We're not gonna lie, planning a wedding can be stressful, especially if you're a procrastinator by heart. And, lets face it, most bride-to-bes are doing this for the first time, so unless you have experience in event organisation, planning your own wedding can be a very daunting task!
The very first thing you need to do is sit down together and make sure you and your partner are on the same page when it comes to your budget. List the more expensive parts of the wedding and highlight what areas you both agree you'd like to focus your spending on (think about what is most important to you for your special day). You can always change your mind and adjust your budget as you receive quotes back from suppliers, but a rough budget is essential to start the planning phase.
To help with your planning timeline, we've created a free printable that gives you a general guide or to-do list to help keep you on track and to make sure you ENJOY the planning phase. A wedding is a celebration after all, so make sure you have fun along the way!
Of course, if you'd prefer to pour yourself a cocktail and hand the reigns over to a professional, check out our local planners & stylists in our #TBAsuppliers directory who will do all the hard work for you. Problem solved.
